Glossary

Active business — the business you’re currently working in. Everything in the app (invoices, clients, reports) belongs to the active business. Switch it from the top-bar menu. See Businesses & team.

Client — a person or company you invoice. See Clients.

Connection — a mutual agreement between two weBiller users that lets documents be delivered in-app. See Connections & requests.

Credit note — a document that reverses or refunds an invoice. Not available yet.

Document request — a pending request to start delivering documents in-app to another weBiller user, which they accept or decline.

Estimate — another word for a quote.

Expense — money your business spent, recorded so reports can show profit. See Expenses.

In-app exchange — delivering invoices/quotes directly between weBiller users, with a mark-paid → confirm loop. See In-app exchange.

Item — a saved product or service you can drop into invoices. See Items.

Line item — a single row on an invoice or quote (description, quantity, price, tax).

Payment claim — a client’s report that they paid, awaiting your confirmation. Shows as the Awaiting confirmation status.

Portal / shared link — a secure public web page where a client without a weBiller account can view and act on a document. See Client portal.

Quote — a priced proposal sent before the work; can be accepted and converted to an invoice. See Quotes.

Subscription — a rule that automatically generates invoices on a repeating cycle. See Subscriptions.

Template — the layout and branding applied to your invoice documents. See Invoice template.
